Porting vs. packaging

I have a question about this edit - what is the difference between porting and packaging? I have you credited as "(port)" everywhere. Is that wrong? Please reply on my talk page; that way I get a notification when I visit the wiki. Esn 07:15, 24 October 2010 (MEST)
