Configuration

Start from inetd

  • Take a look at this.
  • Edit /etc/inetd.conf
  • Uncomment
#ftp     stream  tcp     nowait  root    /usr/sbin/tcpd  proftpd

to

ftp     stream  tcp     nowait  root    /usr/sbin/tcpd  proftpd
  • If the vsftpd line is active, comment it.
  • Be sure that in /etc/proftpd.conf you have:
#ServerType                     standalone

Start as standalone
